As you’d expect, New York Yankees hats, once again, led all sports teams in robbery gear during 2012. In 2010, the New York Times reported about how crime blotters were littered with Yankees hat criminals: “A curious phenomenon has emerged at the intersection of fashion, sports and crime: dozens of men and women who have robbed, beaten, stabbed and shot at their fellow New Yorkers have done so while wearing Yankees caps or clothing.” But Busted Coverage is about more than just Yankees fans robbing Manhattan banks. We’re about Miami Marlins fans robbing banks in Minnesota. We’re about Ohio State fans robbing grocery store banks. We’re about Phillies fan wearing an epic fake beard during a bank robbery. We’re about NASCAR guy pulling a heist. If you pull a robbery and a surveillance camera catches you, there’s a good chance your photo will end up on Busted. Here are the best of the best for 2012. Know one of these criminals and want to make some cash? Tell us which criminal is related to you and we’ll turn him in. mail@bustedcoverage.com Filed under: Cuff 'Em, Lead Marquee
