Found June 03, 2009 on Dom D's Mets Fan Blog:
Last night the Buffalo Bisons beat the first place Norfolk Tides at Harbor Park in Norfolk, VA. Nelson Figueroa (1-4, 3.17) pitched 7.2 innings, allowing just one run on three hits while walking one and striking out three.
Some thoughts:
  • Nelson Figueroa should be in New York, and Tim Redding should be in the bullpen.
  • Wily Mo Pena is a big dude, and he hits every ball hard.
  • Javier Valentin left the game in the fifth inning with a sore right shoulder.
  • Who the hell is Jason Cooper?
  • Emil Brown has an absolute cannon for an arm.
  • Corey Sullivan is a tremendous defender in center field.
  • Jonathan Malo flashed his glove a couple of times, but his arm just isn't strong enough to be a good short stop.
  • Robinson Cancel is the fastest fat guy I've ever seen.
  • Believe it or not, about half the people there last night were cheering for the Bisons. It was funny to watch the Tides players get heckled on their own field. They were so confused, and that may have played a role in the three errors they committed.
  • Nelson Figueroa tossed me a ball after warming up in the bullpen, but he asked me to give it to a little girl sitting behind me. It was her first game (three years old) and she was wearing the smallest Jose Reyes jersey (irony?) I've ever seen, so of course I gave it to her.
  • I tried to get Jonathan Niese's attention last night, but he was in his own little world in the dugout. I think his confidence is really shattered after another rough outing Monday night against Durham.
  • Like I said, I don't know who Jason Cooper is, but he's a jerk. He was the only player that walked right by a group of little kids asking for autographs and did not stop. He didn't even look at them. So much for appreciating fans on the road..,

Here are a couple of pictures I snapped. However, my camera decided to crap out on me before the game so I was forced to use my phone, which frustrated me with horrible pictures, so I stopped snapping after Figueroa's first pitch.

Again, sorry for the horrible pictures. I will be attending Friday's game also and will make sure to bring more than one camera in order to catch some of the action better. All in all, it was a fun experience, even though I had to get another beer when I saw the Mets lost.
