The Toronto Blue Jays have claimed Marlins outfielder Scott Cousins and Yankees pitcher Cory Wade off waivers. The Blue Jays made the moves Wednesday. The 27-year-old Cousins was claimed from Miami. He's spent part of three seasons with the Marlins. Last year, he plowed into San Francisco catcher Buster Posey at the plate, leaving the Giants star with a broken left leg and torn ligaments in his ankle. Wade was 1-1 with a 6.46 ERA in 39 relief appearances for New York this season. The 29-year-old right-hander did not pitch for the Yankees in the playoffs this month.

  • Scott Cousins should be exiled somewhere farther away than Toronto. Because of him the Giants missed out on a possible three-peat.

Blue Jays claim Cory Wade off waivers

The Toronto Blue Jays announced that they have claimed Cory Wade off waivers from the Yankees. The Yankees released the right handed reliever last week as they needed room on the 40 man roster for Delin Betances who was sent to the AFL. Wade has had an up and down career as a reliever as he posted a 2.27 ERA in 2008 with the Dodgers and 2.04 ERA last season with the Yankees. But...
