Sometimes more is less, or least not as much as it seems.The 10-player deal between the Blue Jays and the Houston Astros appears to fit the not-as-much as it seems category. The Blue Jays parted ways with five minor-leaguers, one to be named at the end of August. They parted with two major-leaguers in reliever Francisco Cordero, who had outstayed his welcome in Toronto, and reserve outfielder Ben Francisco, who received little playing time. The Blue Jays, who beat the Red Sox 6-1 Friday, get immediate pitching help in left-hander J.A. Happ and right-hander Brandon Lyon, who broke into the majors with Toronto. Right-hander David Carpenter also came over from the Astros but was shipped to Class-AAA Las Vegas. "We're obviously getting Happ for this year and he has two years of control," Anthopoulos said in a conference call on Friday. "He's a starter and we need depth.
