The Toronto Blue Jays have had quite the offseason, trading
high-profile prospects for even higher-profile players, but they have finished
their significant shopping, according to Gregor Chisholm of MLB.com.
So far this offseason, the Blue Jays have added Jose Reyes,
Emilio Bonifacio, Mark Buehrle, Josh Johnson R.A. Dickey, Josh Thole and Melky
Cabrera, among others, while parting with the likes of Adeiny Hechavarria,
Yunel Escobar, Henderson Alvarez, Noah Syndergaard and Travis d’Arnaud to do
so.
When the Blue Jays signed veteran utility player Mark
DeRosa, they found who they consider to be their 25th man. This move
likely brought an end to the team’s significant offseason shopping, as they
will now attempt to increase their organizational depth.

Blue Jays sign LaRoche to minor-league deal
Corner infielder Andy LaRoche has signed a minor-league contract with the Toronto Blue Jays that includes an invitation to spring training. LaRoche, 29, plays both first base and third base and has not played in the Major Leagues since 2011, when he hit .247 with no homers in 40 games for the Oakland A's.
