I said in this post that after recent off-seasons there was this fear in the back of my head that they would make excuses all off-season until we ended up with Boof Bonser as our fifth starter. While I have more faith in this new front office, then the past who would have stalled all off-season to say in the end "nothing made sense", there have been some warning signs. Even on a tight budget there have been some very capable players who could have been signed at a reasonable price, that have already signed elsewhere in which the Mets showed very little interest in or are still free agents but the Mets appear reluctant to engage in serious negotiations.
