Book Review: The Way of Baseball: Finding Stillness at 95 MPH, by Shawn Green with Gordon McAlpine

While Shawn Green never played for the Red Sox (he was a member of the Blue Jays, Dodgers, Diamondback and the Mets), when I was contacted about the possibility of reading his book The Way of Baseball: Finding Stillness at 95 MPH, I was very interested. We all know that a large contingent of sports figures are religious, and to varying degrees, demonstrate that fact. We have all seen the gestures to the heavens after a Big Papi home run, or any number of players acknowledging God in television and newspaper interviews. So the fact that a player wrote about his experiences on a more spiritual and philosophical level, was both unique and intriguing.
