Found September 03, 2008 on Dom D's Mets Fan Blog:
Jonathon Niese, who made his major-league debut for the Mets on Tuesday night, was born on October 27, 1986 - the day on which the Mets won Game 7 against the Red Sox.

Only two other players in MLB history debuted for a team that won the World Series on the day they were born: Steve Kline (Yankees) and Randy Heflin (Red Sox).

On a substantive note, Niese was the first pitcher since 1990 to make his major-league debut by starting in September or October for a team that was within two games of first place (ahead or behind). The last pitcher to do so was Julio Valera, who also did it for the Mets. Bob Ojeda, Ron Darling, and John Franco pitched in relief in that game.
