The Oakland A's pitcher may be back on Tuesday...potentialy to showcase him?
The Boston Red Sox drafted "The Duke of Hurl" Justin Duchscherer in the eighth round of the 1996 amateur draft. He was eventually traded to the Texas Rangers for Doug Mirabelli.
Duchscherer has sort of become the Oakland Athletics' ace, with an All-Star appearence in 2008. He had a 10-8 record with a 2.54 ERA last season.
However, Duchscherer has been injured for all of the 2009 season, not appearing in one game so far this season, and spending the majority of this season on the DL.
The Red Sox's recent pitching (and offensive) woes have been very well documented, and apparently the front office of Boston thinks that Chris Woodward is the answer to the offensive (the Red Sox claimed him off waivers from Seattle on Aug. 1).
