As first reported by FoxSports.com’s Jon Paul Morosi, the Boston Red Sox are still interested in trading for Chicago White Sox RHP Gavin Floyd who the Red Sox have had discussions about with Chicago during the Winter Meetings in December along with John Danks. Floyd is set to earn $7.5 million this season as the White Sox are still listening to offers for the 28-year old. His contract also includes a $9.5 million club option for 2013. There are still a few quality starters on the free agent market so the White Sox could be obliged to send Floyd for a package of quality prospects. We’ll see what the White Sox do in the coming days. A Thought on Gordon Beckham, Who Might Be Thinking Too Much

I was in the process of trying to finish up my 2012 second base keeper rankings when the name Gordon Beckham came across my eyes. Unlike most of the players I was ranking toward the bottom half of the list, Beckham struck me as one that, in some ways, shouldn't be there. But why? What has made this former first round pick (8th overall and rated as the 20th best prospect in baseball...

Red Sox To Appear At Least Twice on ESPN's Sunday Night Baseball

It should come as no surprise that when ESPN announced their 2012 Sunday Night Baseball schedule of telecasts that we'd find the Boston Red Sox playing the New York Yankees twice. The good thing is that we'll be able to listen to Terry Francona every Sunday night since he'll be a part of the broadcast crew replacing new Red Sox skipper Bobby Valentine. I do have to wonder...

Thanks OC

Another One of the 25 from 2004 has entered retirement, and it is Orlando Cabrera, who calls it quits at the age of 37.He hit .294 for the Red Sox after he was dealt to the Sox in the Nomar Garciaparra trade on July 31st of that year. He played a solid shortstop, and was a big reason the Sox vaulted into the Wild Card lead that August, and eventually into baseball history.Cabrera...

The Others

The Boston Red Sox generate about as much attention as any major sports team in the country. With the exception of the Yankees, Montreal Canadiens and probably a few college football teams the Red Sox get a level of coverage and scrutiny that is rarely exceeded. As a result this leaves little in the way of the unexpected. Every year we see that notion dismissed though with Daniel...
