Lonnie Chisenhall hit by pitch, fractures wrist.

Tribe third baseman Lonnie Chisenhall suffered a fractured wrist after getting hit by a pitch in the fifth inning of Friday’s game. From Jordan Bastian, Indians.com: With Cleveland clinging to a 5-3 lead, Chisenhall was hit by a 91-mph fastball from Orioles left-hander Tyler Patton. Chisenhall jogged down to first base, where he was quickly met by manager Manny Acta and a member...

Damon heating up for Indians

In the first six games of the current 10-game road trip, the Indians struggled to score runs and, not surprisingly, lost most of the games. They lost five of the first six games on the trip, which concludes with a four-game series in Baltimore that began Thursday night with a 7-2 Indians victory.Going into the game, only one American League team had hit fewer home runs than the 61...

Indians Weekend Wrapup: Defying The Odds

I swear I will never be able to figure out this particular Indians club. They entered Baltimore on a five-game losing streak, looking as bad as they have all season. The offense couldn’t score in Amsterdam’s Red Light District with a fist full of hundreds, and the pitching had become extremely suspect. It was (and still is) danger time for our Wahoos. Scheduled to face three...

Box Score: Indians 6, Orioles 2

Something tells me the Tribe’s bats will sad to leave the friendly confines of Camden Yards.  Shelley Duncan hit his second home run in as many days, Aaron Cunningham hit his first homer of the season, and Justin Masterson scattered five hits over seven innings to get the win 6-2. All-Star Chris Perez pitched a scoreless 9th (not a save situation!) for the Indians, who improved...

Indians place Chisenhall on DL with wrist injury

The Cleveland Indians have placed infielder Lonnie Chisenhall on the 15-day disabled list with a fracture bone above his right wrist, the team announced Saturday. To take his place on the roster, the Indians have recalled infielder Jason Donald from Class AAA Columbus. Chisenhall sustained the injury when he was hit by a pitch on the ulna bone Friday night. He was hitting .278...

BALTIMORE (AP) -- Shin-Soo Choo went 4 for 5 with a homer, scored four runs and collected three RBIs to lead the Cleveland Indians past the Baltimore Orioles 11-5 Saturday. Shelley Duncan also homered for the Indians, who had a season-high 19 hits -- eclipsing their previous high of 16, set Friday night in a 9-8 loss at Camden Yards. Chris Davis connected for the Orioles, who have...

Box Score: Orioles 9, Indians 8

Tribe pitcher Derek Lowe couldn’t snap out of his recent funk, allowing seven runs (but just four were earned!) in 5 and 1-3 inning and the Tribe lost in Baltimore 9-8. But despite Lowe allowing seven runs for third time in five starts, the Tribe, who had a season high 16 hits, were tied heading into the bottom of the 7th. But Joe Smith allowed the go-ahead run in and Chris Perez...

Series Preview: Angels at Indians 7/2-4

The Indians series win over the Orioles combined with the White Sox loss to the Yankees has put the Indians back into the passing lane for the Central Division title. Now only 1.5 games back, the Tribe will come back home to face the hot Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. The Angels have won 7 of their last 10 and made up for a terrible start by getting back within 5.5 games of the AL...

6/30 Game Recap: Indians 11 - Orioles 5

Player of the Game Shin-Soo Choo ruled this game as he did yesterday, but in even more impressive fashion this time. Choo had four hits and scored four times as well. He also hit a solo home run and knocked in another two runs as well. His final score was 9.48, his best game on the season. Lou Marson scored a 6.11 and was a home run away from the cycle as he went 4-5 with a walk...
