If any Major League player is going to tell it as it is, it’s Brandon McCarthy. McCarthy is a free agent for the first time in his career, and he’s  dealing with the MLB winter meetings rumors just like any other player. Surely, he would know more than anyone else which teams have shown an interest in him or not, right? Well, McCarthy tweeted on Wednesday night that he’s figured out that “96 percent of all hot stove info and rumors are complete nonsense.” We’re not sure if that applies to the report that the Red Sox are interested in his pitching services or not. Check out McCarthy’s tweet below. Now that I'm on the inside of this process, I've done the math and figured out that 96% of all hot stove info & rumors are complete nonsense— Brandon McCarthy (@BMcCarthy32) December 06, 2012
