Jair Jurrjens had one of his best outings of the exhibition season, allowing a run and three hits in six innings of the Atlanta Braves' 11-1 victory over a Houston Astros split squad Sunday. Jurrjens, projected as the Braves' opening-day starter, lowered his ERA to 7.45, and struck out seven. He was also 2 for 3 at the plate. The Braves jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first when Dan Uggla hit his sixth homer of the spring off Astros starter Zach Duke. The Braves led 10-0 after the fourth inning. Brian McCann also homered off Duke, and Freddie Freeman hit two homers, one off Duke who allowed 10 earned runs in 3 1-3 innings. Martin Prado and Freeman also had two hits for the Braves. Travis Buck had a double for the Astros.
