At one point the Atlanta Braves had hopes of signing both Torii Hunter and B.J. Upton. With Hunter signing a two year deal with the Detroit Tigers, the Braves are turning their sights solely to Upton. The Braves have two spots to fill in the outfield thanks to Michael Bourn becoming a free agency and the move of Martin Prado to third base. Upton hit .246/.298/.454 last season. He stole 31 bases, his fifth straight season topping 30. Despite his usual makeup for the role the Braves would likely use Upton as their leadoff hitter. Upton would provide good defense and power from the center field position but the Braves are not alone in seeking his service. Philadelphia and Texas are two other teams seeking Upton. Upton began playing at the major league level in 2004.

I’m not sure Tigers fans exactly know what they’re getting in Torii Hunter, Angels fans also react

The signing of Torii Hunter for the Tigers was extremely beneficial to the team from an offensive standpoint as well as a defensive standpoint in the outfield. However the Tigers seem to be getting more for their money (2 years, $26 million) beyond what he does on the field which don’t get me wrong is the meat and potatoes of any big deal. After taking a look at the Angels’ Facebook...

Torii Hunter may be headed to the Motor City. According to Fox Sports’ Jon Morosi, Hunter has a “good chance” of signing with the Tigers on a multi-year deal. The caveat attached is that the Rangers may yet join the bidding on the right fielder, which may well appeal to Hunter as he resides in the area. Morosi goes so far to say that the Tigers are “prepared” to make Hunter...

Chipper Jones sufferd an incredibly nasty leg bruise earlier in the season (Picture)

Back in May, Chipper Jones spent a short time on the disabled list after he took a B.J. Upton one-hopper directly to the lower leg. The injury was described as a “left leg contusion,” which is a fancy phrase for a bruise. If you criticized Chipper at the time for missing games because of a bruise, you take it back. You take it back right now. Jones tweeted the photo you see above...
