The Detroit Tigers have been eyeing a left-handed bat for quite some time now. Finally, on Monday, they accomplished that mission. On Aug. 17, the Tigers completed a waiver wire deal with the Baltimore Orioles in exchange for Aubrey Huff. Detroit sent minor league pitcher, Brett Jacobson to the O's. In Aubrey Huff's 10 seasons with three different teams, he has hit .284 with 201 career home runs and a .818 OPS. His power from the left side adds great versatility in the Tigers lineup now. Huff, mainly a first baseman or designated hitter will most likely be an everyday player in the middle of the Detroit lineup. Now the question becomes, where do they play Aubrey Huff? The plans are to move Carlos Guillen out of the designated hitter role and place him in left field, most likely sending Ryan Raburn or Clete Thomas back down to Triple-A Toledo.
