There's a strong possibility that the only teams still pursuing Derek Lowe all play in the NL East.
The Milwaukee Brewers were one of four teams that have still been linked to the veteran righthander in the last two weeks. The other three teams included the Mets, Phillies and Braves.
The Braves and Phillies both met with Lowe and expressed their interest personally, with the Braves expected to make an offer on Monday. The Mets faxed an offer sheet to his agent Scott Boras, which was quickly rejected.
The Brewers may have spent what little they had when they signed future hall of famer, Trevor Hoffman.
