By ANDREW WAGNER FOXSportsWisconsin.com MILWAUKEE -- The Brewers added four minor league players to the 40-man roster on Friday. Outfielder Caleb Gindl, infielders Brock Kjeldgaard and Zealous Wheeler and right-hander Santo Manzanillo were added, protecting them from the upcoming Rule 5 Draft. Friday was the deadline for adding eligible players to a team's 40-man roster. Manzanillo was signed in 2005 and in 61-23 innings this season with Single-A Brevard County, he recorded 62 strikeouts and a 1.75 ERA. Gindl hit .307 in 126 games at Triple-A Nashville with 15 home runs and 60 RBI. He hit for the cycle earlier this season and finished the year in the top 15 of the Pacific Coast League with 145 hits. He was eighth in the league with 63 walks. Kjeldgaard put together another productive season in 2011, slugging 18 home runs and driving in 49 in 65 games at Single-A Brevard County. A midseason promotion sent him to Double-A Huntsville, where he hit .271 with six home runs and 27 RBI. Wheeler opened the season at Huntsville, and in 65 games with the Stars he hit .272 with 20 doubles and 32 RBI. After getting moved up to Nashville, Wheeler hit .275. The additions leave the roster at 35 players.
