MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee Brewers third baseman Aramis Ramirez left Friday's game against Arizona with a left knee sprain.
Ramirez was injured in the bottom of the fourth inning when he awkwardly slid into second base trying to stretch a single into a double.
Off the bat it appeared to be an easy double, but the ball caromed off the wall and rolled right to Diamondbacks left fielder Jason Kubel, who easily threw Ramirez out.
Ramirez missed two weeks of spring training with the same injury, also suffered while sliding into second base.
The Brewers were already without left fielder Ryan Braun, who was scratched a half hour before Friday's game with a right neck strain suffered in batting practice.
Carrying 13 pitchers to start the season, the Brewers already were thin on the bench before the two injuries. When Ramirez left the game, first baseman Alex Gonzalez shifted over to play third base for the first time in his big league career, while Yuniesky Betancourt came in at first base...
