The Milwaukee Brewers continue to take the initial steps in rebuilding their shaky bullpen from a year ago.The club announced Thursday that reliever Kameron Loe has refused an assignment to Triple-A and will become a free agent. This comes a day after the Brewers parted ways with reliever Jose Veras. In additional roster shuffling, first baseman Travis Ishikawa was outrighted to Triple-A Nashville where he will likely elect free agency, outfielder Nyjer Morgan refused his assignment and became a free agent and the Brewers claimed right-handed reliever Arcenio Leon off waivers from Houston. Loe, 31, spent three seasons with the Brewers, but had his worst season in a Milwaukee uniform in 2012. Appearing in 70 games, Loe posted a 6-5 record with a 4.61 earned run average and a 1.43 WHIP. In his three seasons, Loe appeared in 195 games with a 3.67 ERA in 198 23 innings for the Brewers.Arbitration eligible this offseason, Loe was projected to get 2.6 million in arbitration. It was unlikely all along that the Brewers were going to tender Loe a contract.Ishikawa, 29, hit .257 with 4 home runs and 30 RBI in his lone season with the Brewers. The reserve first baseman hit .260 as a pinch hitter in 2012. In 44 games for Double-A Corpus Christi in 2012, the 26-year-old Leon posted a 4.38 ERA in 63 23 innings out of the bullpen. Leon has only appeared in one game above the Double-A level and it wasnt good. He allowed three earned runs in just two innings for Triple-A Oklahoma City in 2011. A power arm, walks have plagued Leon during his career. Outrighted to Nashville on Wednesday, Morgan was expected all along to refuse the assignment in order to become a free agent.
