The beard will be staying put for at least another season. On Thursday the Los Angeles Dodgers finalized a one-year, $10 million contract with reliever Brian Wilson, keeping him with the team after a short stint in the 2013 season. Wilson was looking for a chance to be a closer, but the Dodgers ponied up a ton of money to keep him in town as the setup man for Kenley Jansen. If Jansen gets hurt or struggles, it’s a safe bet Wilson would see some save opportunities. After undergoing Tommy John surgery (for the second time) and missing most of the 2012 season, Wilson made a comeback in the middle of the 2013 season. The Dodgers signed him and he pitched in 18 regular season games, boasting a 2-1 record with a 0.66 ERA and a 0.88 WHIP. He allowed just one run and eight hits in 13.2 innings, while striking out 13 and walking four. Wilson was also great in the postseason. He got into six playoff games and threw six innings, allowing no runs, four hits and two walks, while striking out eight.
