A Jonathan Broxton account, (@Brox4AllStarz) showed up on Twitter shortly before the All-Star voting deadline, begging followers to send the Kansas City closer to the All-Star Game. The account was active for a few days, begging fans to send 'ol Broxy to the All-Star game, the majority of the tweets in the third person, with a simpleton's vocabulary.

Upon news of Jonathan Broxton's trade to the Cincinnati Reds, who will likely become the set-up man for Aroldis Chapman (who was not traded to the Chicago Cubs yesterday, that was a different Chapman), the account popped up on Twitter again gaining followers among the Cincinnati faithful...except there's one problem: The account is fake.

But the blantant fakeness hasn't stopped those from SinseeTown, as Broxton called it, from welcoming him to the team.

There were even questions for Broxton (or 'ol Broxy as he calls himself) about his preferred local cuisine

While the Internet is a confusing place, it seems that a writer (Ian Preuth) for WCPO in Cincinnati might have been feeling fatigued towards the tail-end of the trade deadline, when he published his article that included Broxton's tweets, without pause that they might be fake, despite the ridiculous nature of the tweets. The post has been changed to exclude the tweets, but of course we grabbed a screen-shot before the content changed.

Don't worry, Ian, I'm not sure I'd suspect, "Brox thanks the good people of KansasTown. You were so nice to ol Broxy. Sorry for eating all the BBQ that one time. And that other time," was fake in a time when the real Chipper Jones is tweeting things like this:

The fake Broxton account has gained 600+ followers in the last hour, and if you're looking for a good laugh, read the Broxton tweets, but also take a moment to read the responses from Reds fans wishing the caveman caraciature into their bullpen
