The Toronto Blue Jays Triple A affiliate Buffalo Bisons came out swinging against the Syracuse Chiefs, taking no prisoners enroute to a 27-9 victory versus the Washington Nationals farm team. Perhaps the Bisons may want to ship some of their luck lumber north of the border to the hit deprived big club. The herds 29 hit slaughtering was led by 28-year-old infielder Jim Negrych who hit for the cycle with 4 hits in 7 at bats bumping his season average to a swollen .515. Negrych was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 6th round of the 2006 amateur draft but has yet to receive a chance at the major league level. The infielder played 91 games for the Syracuse Chief last season before latching on with the Jays in the offseason. The onslaught continued with power hitting first baseman Luis Jimenez who knocked in 8 Bisons on the day complimented with his 5 hits.
