Another Cubs Blog:
Back in December Will Carroll claimed that Carlos Zambrano couldn’t raise his right arm as high as his left arm after his no-hitter in Milwaukee. I decided to go back and watch the video and take some screen caps just to check. After all, Zambrano did throw a no-hitter, but apparently we’re to believe that the more important sign of his health in that outing was how he raised his arm and not that he actually threw a no-hitter. Despite actual proof that he was wrong, 3 months later Will is saying the same crap.
When Zambrano raised his arms to the sky after his no-hitter, he couldn’t raise the right one as high; that should tell you something. His shoulder is finally showing some signs of wear after the kind of abuse that put Kerry Wood and Mark Prior down and out.
First of all, it’s really easy to state that Dusty Baker is 100% responsible for the injuries of those two, but it lacks rational thought and any real evidence. And no, PAP is not evidence. It tells me who threw the most, which I can kind of figure that those guys would be the most likely to be injured. After all, you have to throw pitches to get injured (most of the time anyway). The more you do it, the more likely you are to get injured. Claims to the opposite like this are just plain bullshit.
Let’s look at the photos once again to prove, again, that Will Carroll is both full of shit and incapable of even watching youtube for about 20 seconds. I’m serious, it would take Will Carroll about 20 seconds to look at the evidence and stop making shit up, but he refuses to do so.
It’s hard to tell for sure considering he’s wearing his glove, but this next one isn’t. The next one is plain as day.
See! Shoulder raised just as high as left one. Therefore 100% healthy and will never get injured the rest of his life at which point I can give Dusty Baker 100% credit for Zambrano’s health in his career. Blah! Fucking! Blah! I can play the game too. The more I look at the 2nd image, it appears his right arm is higher than the left one. That can mean only one thing. The left shoulder is fucked. Because of Dusty
Is Carlos Zambrano injured? I haven’t the foggiest damn clue. All I know is that he raised his right arm as high or higher than his left arm and that using an actual no-hitter, a dominating performance that hadn’t been done by a Cub in a very long time, as evidence that the player is injured is a bit mindboggling. Will Carroll is wrong. Plain and simple. Wrong. He was wrong in December and he’s still wrong. It is not hard to find this stuff on Al Gore’s interweb. It’s all over the place.
