Cal Ripken Jr. has never been accused of any sort of involvement in a scandal on or off the field. He holds one of the most admirable records in any sport which is a true sign of his dedication to baseball. He played for the game and not for the satisfaction of the boost of popularity, money or fame. He is a true hero to the game and with all of the scandals and negative attention that is currently surrounding baseball and many other sports in general, Cal needs to be the role model to show class and integrity to the youngsters who are following in the wrong footsteps. If only there were more Cal Ripken Jr.'s in the game today, we as spectators could enjoy watching a game without the distractions of drug abuse and misbehavior that have poisoned the wellbeing of baseball today.
