The Cardinals are coasting through September right into the playoffs for the first time since 2006 and I think we’re all kind of wondering the same thing: What the hell took so long? I think I just heard Pirate and Red fans groan audibly from St. Louis. And no offense to those historically fine baseball cities, but I’m just not sure that Pirates, Reds or Brewers can actually make the playoffs. Not just in 2009 or 2010, but ever, really.  Seriously.
