The San Francisco Giants’ 5-2 loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks was also the first home game played at AT&T Park for the newest Giants, Carlos Beltran and Orlando Cabrera.
Beltran went 2-for-4 with a triple. He batted third and played right field.
He had played four road games since being traded to the Giants.
He was 0-for-4 on July 28 in his only game against the Philadelphia Phillies. Beltran played the entire three-game series with the Cincinnati Reds, going a combined 2-for-13 with a run, an RBI, a walk and four strikeouts.
Cabrera made his first start with the Giants Sunday in Cincinnati. He was 0-for-3 with a strikeout.
Last night in San Francisco, he went 1-for-4, batted seventh and played shortstop.
