Over the past couple of seasons, the approach of the Mets and Yankees to the slotting system has represented opposite sides of the spectrum. While the Mets have sought to maintain an "excellent relationship" with the commissioner's office, the Yanks have treated the commissioner's recommendations "with stifled laughter, routinely paying above slot."
