The Miami Herald reports that former Mets outfielder, Timo Perez has signed a minor league deal with the Detroit Tigers. The Detroit Tigers announced on Monday that they have agreed to terms with outfielder Timo Perez on a minor league contract. Perez, who was also invited to Spring Training as a non-roster invitee, spent all of last season with Toledo, Detroit's Triple-A affiliate. He tied for ninth in the International League with a .302 batting average in addition to posting 30 doubles, 13 homers and 63 runs batted in over 112 games. The 33-year-old outfielder hit .389 in 29 games with Detroit in 2007. In 603 career games with the New York Mets, Chicago White Sox, St. Louis Cardinals and Tigers, Perez is batting .269 with 26 homers, 185 RBI and 187 runs scored.
