From the Aeros-

“Indians players Carlos Carrasco and Lonnie Chisenhall have been added to the Aeros on minor league rehab assignments, and prospects Ronny Rodriguez and Delvi Cid have been promoted from Class-A Carolina.

Carrasco, 25, underwent elbow reconstructive surgery (Tommy John) on September 21, 2011. He has not pitched since August 3, 2011, against Boston. He was placed on the DL the following day and missed the rest of the season. Carrasco was 8-9, 4.62, in 21 starts for the Tribe last season. He was ejected from a game against Kansas City on July 29, 2011, after throwing a pitch at the Royals’ Billy Butler. He was suspended for six games by Major League Baseball for that incident, and still must serve the suspension when he returns to the majors. Carrasco has a 10-15 major league record with a 4.93 ERA in 33 career games. He was acquired by the Indians from the Phillies in a trade for pitcher Cliff Lee on July 29th, 2009. No stranger to the Eastern League, Carrasco was a member of the Reading Phillies in 2007 and 2008, and was a mid-season EL all-star in 2008.

Chisenhall, 23, was hitting .278, with three homers and nine runs batted in 23 games with the Tribe when he was hit on the right forearm by a pitch from Baltimore’s Troy Patton on June 29th at Camden Yards. The result was a fracture of Chisenhall’s ulna bone, and a trip to the 60-day DL. Prior to his call-up, Chisenhall was playing for AAA Columbus. In 30 games with the Clippers, he was hitting .314 with four homers and 17 RBI’s. He returned to live action for the first time last Sunday, joining the Clippers in Toledo. He went 1-7, in two games with the Clippers on Sunday and Monday. Chisenhall was the Tribe’s top draft pick and 29th overall selection in the 2008 draft. He played a key role in Akron’s 2009 championship, hitting .467 in the playoffs, after being called up from High Class-A late in the season. He then spent the entire 2010 campaign with the Aeros, hitting .278, with 17 homers and 84 RBI’s.”

Just in time for Akron’s playoffs.
