Chuck Knoblauch’s Verified Twitter Account Takes a Shockingly Racist Turn

I follow Chuck Knoblauch on Twitter (Ed. note: follow me @LastAngryFan), and for the most part the ex-Yankees second baseman is cordial, engaging, and not the least bit controversial with his tweets.  If Chuck Knoblauch’s verified Twitter account was an ice cream, it’d be vanilla.  Which is why I was shocked, to say the least, when I came across this rather odd, profane, and downright racist rant on Knoblauch’s timeline early Saturday morning. For the record, Cheri Olvera is Knoblauch’s wife, and the ex-fiancee of Brian Giles, and as far as I can tell, the two are still married.  Which makes this tweet, sent from what I assume to be Chuck’s iPhone, all the more puzzling. So far the offensive tweet is still up on Knobby’s feed, and the 4-time All-Star hasn’t come out and claimed that his Twitter account was hacked, as many athletes who’ve demonstrated their ignorance and stupidity in 140 characters or less have done so many times before...
