<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; font-size: small;">What were the players thinking when they were polled?
By Lily Deerinwater - AngelsWin.com Columnist
Earlier this month Sports Illustrated Magazine released it's annual MLB Players Poll. They ask as many players as they can a list of questions they'd never answer without a guarantee of anonymity. This year 227 players participated in the poll, which was taken prior to the start of regular season play. Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim starter C.J. Wilson was voted 'Most Overrated Pitcher'.
To accurately answer the question, one must look at Wilson's record previous to the 2012 season, as well as his current stats. Wilson became a starter for the Texas Rangers in 2010 and ended the season with a 15-8 record and a 3.35 era, pitching 204 innings and striking out 170 batters, helping the team to their first World Series ...

I recently wrote a post at Halo Hangout asking if the Mike Trout love has gone too far. My quick, and obvious, answer was "no." In fact, Trout probably ins't getting enough love. My girlfriend, on the other hand, disagrees.According to her, a Yankees fan I might add, I write and talk about Trout too much. She's starting to get jealous. Of course, she has nothing...
ANAHEIM, Calif. Jered Weaver must have counted the days. Twenty-two of them passed since the last time he pitched in a game, and every one was tortuous.
For a starting pitcher, waiting four days between starts is difficult enough. Going on the disabled list, then waiting to heal and inching back to health is almost inhumane. Pitchers want to be on the mound, not on the trainer...

Los Angeles Angels right-hander Jerome Williams remained hospitalized for part of the day Tuesday after being taken to UCI Medical Center on Monday night. Williams was having breathing difficulties and apparently passed out in the clubhouse after being removed in the fourth inning of his start against the Giants on Monday. The Angels were not giving any details of Williams'...
Los Angeles Angels ace Jered Weaver will be activated from the disabled list on Wednesday, when he will make his first start in more than two weeks. Weaver suffered a strained lower back in the first inning on May 28 and has not pitched since. He felt good during his bullpen session on Sunday, and is scheduled to pitch Wednesday against the Giants. Angels manager Mike Scioscia...
The Los Angeles Angels have designated David Pauley for assignment, MLB.com's Alden Gonzalez reports. The move creates room for infielder Andrew Romine who was recalled from Triple-A.
Pauley went 0-1 with a 4.35 ERA, 0.9 HR/9, 2.6 BB/9 and 3.5 SO/9 in 10.1 innings with the Angels this season.
was hitting .281/.335/.367 with 3 HR's, 23 RBI's and a .701 OPS in 221 AB'...
Wooohooooo, I actually happen to be a pretty smart guy. Not only did I predict a Zito beatdown, but I also called for it to get the ball rolling on some strong offensive production for the Angels. A lot of things when right tonight; the small ball, the long ball, the starting pitching; and speaking of the starting pitching wasn't it awesome to see fresh off the DL Jered Weaver...
Jered Weaver pitched six innings of two-hit ball in his return from the disabled list and the Los Angeles Angels beat the San Francisco Giants 6-0 on Wednesday night, handing Ryan Vogelsong his first loss in almost seven weeks.
Alberto Callaspo homered against Vogelsong and teammates Kendrys Morales and Mark Trumbo greeted former Angels prospect Shane Loux with back-to back home...
Albert Pujols hit a three-run homer, Mark Trumbo added a three-run triple while driving in five runs, and Mike Trout matched his career high with four hits in the Los Angeles Angels' 12-5 victory over the San Francisco Giants on Tuesday night.
C.J. Wilson (8-4) allowed season-highs of five runs and 10 hits, but the Angels backed him with their highest-scoring performance of...

After the Angels' offense errupted last night, the team very well may be on track for another offensive tear. Tonight's match up will be telling for the...
I know that I've been building up Jerome the last few previews, and coincidentally since I started talking him up he's been having some rather unlucky starts. Unlike his start against the Dodgers, he actually seems to have a decent reason for having a less than stellar start today.Jerome Williams was taken to the hospital after his start, experiencing shortness of breath...
The Sugar Land Skeeters of the independent league are expected to sign left-hander Scott Kazmir, Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports reports. If you are wondering why Kazmir selected the Skeeters, it's not because of the awesome team name, it is because they play in Houston, his hometown.
Kazmir had pitched in front of numerous teams this past offseason including the Mets, but wasn&...
