Roger Clemens was involved in yet another milestone; the most anticipated Independent League game in history.  Clemens, at 50-years-old, is at the beginning of a so-called comeback. If the rumours are true and the Houston Astros are serious about Clemens, it would definitely stir up some excitement and would sell a heck of a lot of tickets.  For the first time in five years Clemens took the hill, this time for the Sugar Land Skeeters, and did what he usually does; held opponents off the score sheet.  He went three and a third, gave up only one hit and struck out two. Obviously the calibre of hitter isn’t the type he is used to facing but, he did what he had to do and got the job done.  There hasn’t been any confirmation on whether he will make another start, but if he does, and is successful, would it not be a bad idea to see what he would be like in a middle-relief role for a team competing for a playoff spot? Would he have enough time to get MLB ready? Would it be worth it to start that Hall of Fame clock over again?  In news that got overlooked, Scott Kazmir was taken off the inactive list and reinserted into the starting rotation.  On Friday night Kazmir took the mound against the Bridgeport Bluefish for the second time this season. He went six innings for the second straight start and allowed four runs on nine hits, struck out two and walked one.  Coming back from an eight plus walk performance in his last start with one is a great achievement. And to do so with the world watching now that Clemens is on the team makes it even more impressive.  Kazmir now sits with a 0-6 record and an ERA of 7.57.  No one said comebacks were easy.
