In Game 2 of the Twins series, the Indians fell for the second straight game since the All Start break. But if one thing sticks out, its errors, and for the second game in a row, Lonnie Chisenhall made a bad error, at the wrong time, and the Twins came from behind to take the game 3-2. During the first 2 games since the All Star Break, the Tribe have scored four runs on nine hits, and to make matters worse for the pitchers, Corey Kluber left the game after a five scoreless innings with a sore left hop. All Star Jason Kipnis knows that each and every game post All Star Break is critical. “It’s getting into late July right now, we can make excuses for a while, but we need some guys to start stepping up right now. We’ve been shooting ourselves in the foot these last two games. You can’t blame the starting pitching. You can’t blame the bullpen. You can’t win many games if you don’t score runs.” After ending the first portion of the season 1.5 games behind Detroit, The Indians got a break after dropping their first two as Detroit also lost their first two games post All Star Break. After a win on Sunday for both Tigers and Indians, the two losses didn’t sting too bad in the standings. As if the Indians needed to worry about the health of another starting pitcher, Kluber doesn’t seem to be injured too severely and has not been placed on the DL and plans to start Friday against Texas.  The Tribe did get some good news as Zach McAllister will start on Tuesday in Seattle, after spending time on the DL due to a finger injury. Sunday, the pitching was superb as All Star Justin Masterson made his second half debut with a no hitter into the 7th inning. Nasty Masty faced the minimum through 6 innings. As for the trade rumors going around, according to MLB Trade Rumors on twitter, The Cleveland Indians are close to signing Cuban RHP. Leando Linares is 19 and has played for the 16 and under national team, and 18 and under national championships. The 6’3 205 pound teenager is nearing a deal of about $1 Million. Since he is 19, Linares has not played in a Cuban professional league for over three years, and his signing would have to come out of the Tribe’s international bonus pool. Cleveland, started this year with a bonus pool of $3.64 Million. This year, the Indians have signed Dominican shortstop Willy Castro and outfielder Junior Soto for $850 thousand and $600 thousand respectively.
