The Oakland A’s made a pair of roster moves Wednesday prior to their 12:35pm start at the Oakland Coliseum, sending starting pitcher Brett Anderson and center fielder Coco Crisp to the disabled list and recalling pitcher Dan Straily and catcher Luke Montz from the Sacramento River Cats.
Crisp, batting .283 with five homers and eight stolen bases, injured his left hamstring in the 14th inning of Monday night’s 19-inning marathon win against the Los Angeles Angels.
Anderson, 1-4 with a 6.21 ERA, originally injured his ankle against the Boston Red Sox. He made his next scheduled start against the Tampa Bay Rays, but was scratched from his most recent start Monday against the Los Angeles Angels. He was called upon to pitch in the 13th inning Monday night despite having been scratched earlier from the start and lasted 5 1/3 innings in relief.
He re-twisted the ankle though and now finds himself shelved for the next two weeks.
