Dylan Hernandez has a couple of updates for us this evening. Hernandez says that the Dodgers are done shopping for position players and are now looking to fix up the bullpen, brace yourselves folks. Colletti is still working on putting Mike MacDougal back in the Dodgers 2012 bullpen. Yeah, yeah we have known this for weeks. It's inevitable, I am actually not sure why it's taking Colletti so long to give MacDougal a backloaded two-year deal.

MacDougal has been around the league now for eleven seasons and is a proven major leaguer. In 2011 the right-hander posted a 2.05 ERA with 6.5 K/9, a 4.6 BB/9, and a 60.9% ground ball rate in 57 innings. MacDougal had a phenomenal ground ball rate in 2011, ranking tenth out of all major league pitchers with 50 innings pitched.

Hernandez is also tweeting that just 24 hours removed from non-tendering Hong-Chih Kuo, Ned Colletti has already begun talks about a potential deal with the Dodgers former left-hander. Colletti said that a big part of the reason the Dodgers non-tendered Kuo last night was because they aren’t sure if he’s interested in pitching in 2012. "That's part of what we have to figure out," Colletti said. Well this doesn't surprise me at all, but I still believe Kuo's days as a Dodger are over. If Kuo decides to return after recovering from his fifth elbow surgery and his anxiety disorder, I am quite certain he can get more money elsewhere.
