Found October 11, 2011 on Sawx Blog:
Yesterday I was contacted by Mike from webstaurantstore.com with the below info-graphic about the cost of beer and hot dogs at baseball parks across the country. Not only is it well put together, but it's also very interesting to look over. A larger version of the info-graphic can be found here, and a few points of interest as they pertain to the Red Sox fan are below: While beer at Fenway Park is expensive, it's not tops in the league, with four Teams charging more including the Marlins of all Teams, which is pretty mind boggling. I guess they assume that since nobody goes to the actual games they might as well fleece the rare Florida baseball fan as much as they can. If you bought an average ticket, beer, and hot dog Boston would be the most expensive ballpark in baseball. This isn't news to Sox fans, and what ends up pushing the Red Sox over the top is the price of the ticket. The silver lining? The good ol' Fenway Frank is actually one of the more affordable dog...

Theo Epstein is Not a Quitter or a Traitor. Sheesh

The vitriol Theo Epstein is getting by some in the Red Sox Nation is unfair. Golly, the man had a hand in bringing Boston two world championships after a drought spanning back to 1918. And perhaps this post is premature since the Eptein to the Cubs story is only a report and has not yet been confirmed. But the din and hue out on Twitter and in blogs is seriously irking. Let's...

Regarding Theo Epstein

Regarding Theo Epstein going to the Cubs, we have no comment, will have no comments (unless he fails), and we will not be posting about Epstein if he is successful. This might sound harsh, but as many of you know I am a die hard White Sox fan.

Chicken, beer, video games and a Red Sox collapse

The Orioles had a hand in the collapse of the Red Sox, taking five games from the playoff pretenders last month. But fried chicken, beer and video games played a bigger role, according to an interesting Boston Globe report.

Report: Epstein on cusp of taking job with Cubs

Theo Epstein is "on the cusp" on joining the Cubs, according to the Boston Herald.

Cherington Waits In The Wings

As the entire baseball world knows by now, Theo Epstein is leaving the Red Sox, as he has reached a deal with the Chicago Cubs on a five-year deal to basically get the Cubs to their first World Series since 1945.His Cubs deal his expected to net Epstein $15 million, along with a $5 million bonus. The only thing holding up the deal is what compensation the Sox will receive, as he...

Cubs are still destined for failure

Theo Epstein's coming to rescue the Cubs, eh? Don't get your hopes up.

AP source: Epstein to Cubs likely within 48 hours

BOSTON (AP) - Red Sox general manager Theo Epstein is likely to join the Chicago Cubs within the next 48 hours, a person familiar with the situation told The Associated Press on Tuesday night. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because no announcement had been made. The Cubs fired general manager ...

Adrian!

Gaslamp Ball is not surprised to find out that Adrian Gonzalez lacks leadership skills. In general, I don’t care. If someone hits .338/.410/.548 for the season, he did his job. If he wants to kick some other players into action, fine, but they are all grown men earning lots of money. They shouldn’t need motivation to perform at their best.

The Plaque Sox

Maybe they got confused and thought KFC and LDL were new stats. You have to hand it to the Red Sox PR operation. Not only did they slam pretty much the entire team, they even stole Theo's exit thunder. Now they can trade anyone, except Pedroia. The AG travel quote, which was pretty harmless really, was mentioned in the Globe piece. Wake's desire to come back and set a team...

Quote of the Day

Dave van Dyck on Theo Epstein: Attaining genius status sometimes is easier than maintaining it, as he discovered when his star began to fade in Boston. It reminds me of this advice from Mr. Spock:
