The New York Yankees’ biggest off-season mistake, Rafael Soriano, is currently on the 60 day DL with right elbow inflammation.  However, he is making positive steps toward an eventual return.  The first positive step is that he has not had to undergo Tommy John surgery.  Knock on wood.  Additionally, Rafael Soriano played catch a couple of days ago without any problems.  That is a very important step obviously and one that hints at him beginning a throwing program relatively soon.  There is still a long way for him to go and I don’t anticipate him making a return within a month (maybe even longer than that), but it is good news nonetheless.  The way Joe Girardi is talking about Rafael Soriano regaining his primary set-up role upon his return makes me think the New York Yankees are pretty confident that he will, in fact, be able to make a return this season without having to undergo any serious operations.  Again, I’m knocking on wood.  Despite the disappointment in...
