Quoting a source, ESPN Dallas reports the Cowboys will hire Gary Brown as their running backs coach. Brown, a former NFL running back, played eight seasons with Houston, San Diego and the New York Giants and has spent the last four years as the Cleveland Browns’ running backs coach. His Cleveland teams ranked 18th, 22nd, 31st and 21st in yards per attempt during Brown's tenure as a RB coach, but those numbers may have to be seen in the context of Cleveland's overall record over the last four seasons in which they fnished 5-11 three times and 4-12 once. While in Cleveland, Brown coached both Jerome Harrison and Peyton Hillis to career-high seasons, Harrison to 862 total yards in 2009 and Hillis to 1,177 total yards in 2010. Neither player had recorded more than 400 yards in their previous two seasons combined. Source: SBNation.com

> Tim Lincecum has gotten a haircut. Actually, it appears he has gotten several of them. Back in December, rumors swirled that the San Francisco Giants pitcher had chopped off his long, flowing locks. There was photo evidence at the time, but it was a bit blurry and there were some skeptics who refused to believe it. Now, it’s official. Lincecum was one of the biggest stories...

SF Giants Rumors: Media Day Notes

Credit: Steven Robles – SF Giants Rumors Today is the day that really started to get my baseball juices flowing. I attended the San Francisco Giants Media Day at AT&T Park. Below is some notes from Media Day.   As you probably guessed; Hunter Pence was asked a lot of questions about his speech...

Tim Lincecum Has a New Look

San Francisco Giants pitcher Tim Lincecum made a change this off-season.  He’s gone with the ever-more popular hipster-athlete look. I don’t think anyone can blame Lincecum for making a change. Even though the Giants won the World Series,  ”The Freak” had a terrible year. In 2012 he went 10-15 and gave up a career worst 111 runs. New year, new look for @timlincecum: twitter...

San Francisco Giants sign Sergio Romo to two-year deal

The San Francisco Giants announced Wednesday evening that they have signed RP Sergio Romo to a two-year deal worth a reported $9 million dollars. The deal allowed the Giants to wrap up all of their arbitration cases before any hearing were required. The move allows Romo to become a free agent after the 2014 season. Romo recorded 14 saves last season for the Giants with a 1.79 ERA...

Romo embracing closer's role in San Francisco

Sergio Romo raced down a tunnel inside AT&T Park on Saturday, slapping hands with a line of supporters chanting his last name during Fan Fest. He danced with some, posed for pictures with others and riled up the rest. San Francisco's new bearded closer has no trouble in the limelight. After a dominant and demonstrative performance throughout October, Romo's role for...

Tim Lincecum Cuts Hair, Now Looks More Like Joseph Gordon-Levitt Than Mitch From ‘Dazed and Confused’ (Photo)

For years now, Tim Lincecum has been sporting some rockin’ hair. Often saying it was one of the few things in life he could control, Lincecum’s black locks were a big part of his image — no matter how much he looked like Wiley Wiggins playing Mitch in the film Dazed and Confused. Well, now Lincecum has a new look. On Friday, Lincecum showed up to a Giants team event sporting...

New-look Lincecum ready for a comeback with Giants

Sporting short hair and specs he doesn't need but chooses to complete his new look, Tim Lincecum looked nothing like the hard-throwing San Francisco pitcher the Bay Area has come to know for his shaggy `do and strong arm. Lincecum drew comparisons Friday ranging from Buddy Holly to Elvis Costello and even Greg Maddux. Silicon Valley smarty, to poet and professor. A transformed...

Tim Lincecum looks, um, different (Photos)

When we last saw Tim Lincecum it was in the World Series, still with the “Dazed and Confused” look for which we’ve come to know him. The long hair, the vacant smile. It all made sense when Lincecum got busted for weed a few years back. But when he appeared in front of the media on Friday, you could barely recognize him. The flowing, often-grimey locks were gone, replaced by...
