Another Cubs Blog:
Not much to say. Ryan Demspter couldn’t throw strikes. He managed to pitch innings and allow 4 runs. Would have been more it if weren’t for a grand slam saving catch by Reed Johnson who replaced Milton Bradley who has a left groin strain.
Marshall and Marmol pitched the 7th and 8th innings and Gregg allowed a run in the 9th (home run by Weeks). It wasn’t a save opportunity.
The Cubs offense took 10 walks tonight. And the Brewers helped the Cubs out by walking 4 of them in giving the Cubs a 6-2 lead. Soriano led the game off with a home run and he took 2 walks as well. Mike Fontenot took 3 walks.
That’s it’. You know the rest. You knew that part too, but oh well.
