Eli's MLB Rumors:
The Cubs have traded shortstop Ronny Cedeno and Garrett Olson to the Mariners for right handed pitcher Aaron Heilman. This move gives the Cubs another option for the five spot in the rotation, joining Sean Marshall, Angel Guzman, and Chad Gaudin in the race for the five spot. Ronny Cedeno's improved plate discipline and slick defense gives the Mariners a solid young player who could really contribute to the Mariners chances next season. He can play second and short, but has some experience at third as well. The Cubs also flirted with the idea of putting him in the outfield, so the Mariners could try that as well. If Cedeno continues his strong play, he could trump Yuniesky Betancourt out the starting job at shortstop.?
