Found May 08, 2009 on Another Cubs Blog:
The Cubs just traded with the Orioles again. Ryan Freel is coming to Chicago and Joey Gathright is headed to Baltimore via a long stop in AAA Norfolk. I like this trade. Freel adds the speed that Gathright was essentially being used for. Freel also adds some versatility that the club has lacked. He can play all 3 outfield positions and he can play 2nd and 3rd base as well. If Fontenot starts getting some action at SS, Aaron Miles may want to start packing his bags. I’ll post more about Freel and his projections after the game tonight. I have no idea if Freel is in Milwaukee. The Cubs are also going to call up Randy Wells from AAA Iowa to take Carlos Zambrano’s spot in the rotation and will presumably option Bobby Scales to Iowa.
