The Chicago Cubs agreed to a one-year contract with righthander Andy Sonnanstine on Monday.
Sonnanstine spent the past five seasons with the Tampa Bay Rays, compiling a 28-31 record and 5.26 ERA as a starter and reliever.
The 28-year-old righty made only 15 appearances (four starts) last season, going 0-2 with a 5.55 ERA.
He has his best season in 2008, posting a 13-9 record and a 4.38 ERA while making 32 starts.
Chicago also finalized a one-year deal with reliever Manny Corpas on Monday.
Corpas sat out the entire 2010 season while recuperating from Tommy John surgery. He posted a 3-5 mark with 10 saves and a 4.62 ERA for the Colorado Rockies in 2010.
