The Chicago Cubs have made it clear Tyler Colvin is no longer in their future plans with a slew of outfield talent coming up through the system. They’ve made it clear Aramis Ramirez will not be back, and they do need a third basemen. It has been reported that the Chicago Cubs are in talks to acquire Ian Stewart from the Rockies in exchange for the former first round pick Tyler Colvin. I actually would love this deal. Stewart is a guy that fell out of favor, so is Colvin. The Cubs could stick him at third and beef up the offense around him and allow him to hit 240 with 10 homers and 50 RBI’s for a little money. Not everyone is going to be an all star and frankly- this is a low risk high reward sign because Tyler Colvin is definitely out as a player the Cubs can rely on moving forward.
