Cubs Sign Dempster to 4 Year $52 Million Deal; I Stop Calling Him "Dumpster"

How can you be surprised he took this deal? This is the first solidly good year he's ever had. Dempster has never had an ERA below 3 before this year; he's actually had an ERA above 4 seven of his 11 years in the majors; he's had only four winning seasons (including 2008) in his 11 year career; he blew nine saves in 2006. The list goes on about how this guy has been at best mediocre his entire career. He all of a sudden has a good season and everyone thinks he's the next coming of Johan Santana. I'm surprised the Cubs gave him that much money for that many years.

I would be willing to wager that this guy doesn't make it to the All-Star Break next year before he is sent back to the bullpen.
