Free agent pitcher Paul Maholm took to his twitter account this evening and announced that he had signed with the Chicago Cubs. “I hope to get to continue some things when I visit during the year and start some great things as I start my Cubs career,” Maholm said on his twitter account.
This past season, Maholm posted an ugly 6-14 record but had a 3.66 era in 162 1/3 innings. In seven seasons, all in Pittsburgh, Maholm accumulated a 4.36 era.
Maholm made $5.75mm last season and became a free agent after his $9.75mm team option was declined.
