Found February 27, 2009 on Another Cubs Blog:
Sean Marshall an uneven first outing surrendering 4 hits in 2 IP, but only walking 1 and surrendering just 1 ER. Considering that the Brewers absolutely murder LH pitching, that’s not so bad. Joey Gathright had 3 hits, and showcased his speed by beating Lloyd Braun’s throw from mid-LF to the plate. Yesterday’s Hero of the Day, Micah Hoffpauir showcased some fine effectively mediocre typically clumsy defense in LF. Bradley saw his first game action, but did nothing of note and left the game with tightness in his left-quad, though he deems it nothing serious. Doubtlessly, this will have Cub fans in quite a tizzy. Jake Fox gave the Cubs the lead with a 3-run HR in the 3rd inning and the Cubs never looked back. Mike Stanton had an awful outing, going HR, BB, 1B to the first three batters he faced. Might be time for ol’ Mike to hang ‘em up. Chad Fox managed to pitch an inning without his arm falling off, and Angel Guzman picked up the save. Gaudin (who I think picked up the win) and Marmol were both wild in the zone and got touched for a run apiece, but all-in-all, this was a pretty typical ST game. Sloppy defense, pitchers all a bit wild, lots of runs scored.
