It's great to see Antonio Bastardo pitch so well in his Major Leauge debut. With Myers out for the season, the Phillies desperately need to fill the void in the pitching rotation if they want a chance to repeat. Could Bastardo be the answer? He could be - I'd like to see him go out a couple more times before I'm sold on the idea though - but it's looking good so far.
What more can you ask from Bastardo? He only walked one batter, and struck out five - allowing only four hits and one run.
Happy birthday to Raul Ibanez! He celebrated in fashion, hitting 2-home runs in Tuesday's game, numbers 18 & 19 - along with a double and 5-RBI's. Anybody miss Burrell? He has only managed 1-home run so far this season.
So the Phils picked up their 6th win in a row, and things are looking good. I still scratch my head, however, everytime Chan Ho Park takes the mound. We gave up on Eaton and Jenkins. We're paying them a combined $16-million. Why are we sticking it out with Park? God help me for saying this - I'd rather have Eaton in the pen than Park, especially considering the salaries involved.
Maybe that's an overstatement. The fact is, Park and Eaton both stink! The Orioles have already given up on Eaton - when are we going to give up on Park?
