Filed under: Dodgers , Giants , Padres , Red Sox SAN DIEGO -- Chemotherapy behind him, San Diego Padres assistant Dave Roberts said Tuesday that his comeback from a form of cancer has gone well. Radiation treatment awaits the former major league outfielder, who described his recent test results as clean. "I see the light at the end of the tunnel," said Roberts, who in March received his first of eight doses of chemotherapy. Roberts said the surprising Padres , who have the National League's best record, have helped him cope with the draining chemotherapy. "Watching these guys every night is very therapeutic, it really is," Roberts said from San Diego's ballpark, where he spoke with reporters for the first time since announcing in early May that he had Hodgkin's lymphoma. "Just to watch them, it's so exciting. It's made me feel very good."
