Bobby Valentine Calls Boston Media ‘Horses Asses’, Says NY Media is Better

The saga of Bobby Valentine vs the Boston media is clearly far from over, even though Bobby V is no longer with the organization. A season removed from the doomed stint with the Red Sox Bobby Valentine seems to have transgressed nicely, he’s since taken up a job as analyst for SNY and athletic director for Sacred Heart University, but his memories from Boston aren’t fully diminished...

Red Sox Recap: vs. NYY (04.01.13)

The atmosphere surround this game may not have been on the same level as the 2004 ALCS but it sure felt like a lot was riding on today's Opening Day game against the Yankees. In reality it probably meant more to us, the fans, then it did to the organization as a whole, but after last year's regrettable and forgettable season today meant a fresh start for our beloved Sox team...

Vote: Where Will the Red Sox Finish This Season in the American League East?

It’s a whole new season, and the Red Sox enter it the same as everybody else: tied for first place, and tied for last. Where they finish this season, however, is anybody’s guess. With new manager John Farrell at the helm, the Red Sox will attempt to rebound from last year’s last-place finish and make their way back into the playoffs for the first time since 2009. Jackie Bradley...

Jon Lester Bends, Doesn’t Break in Encouraging Opening Day Win Over Yankees

It took Jon Lester five starts to notch his first win last season, so the left-hander is already a step ahead of the game. Lester pitched five innings and earned the win in the Red Sox’ 8-2 victory over the Yankees on Monday. He threw 96 pitches (63 strikes), and allowed two runs on five hits and two walks while striking out seven. It was far from a dominant performance by Lester...

Red Sox Defeat Yankees in Opener

They have won their first Opening Day in three years as they defeated the New York Yankees 8-2. Jose Iglesias picked up three hits while Jackie Bradley Jr walked three times and drove in a run. In the second inning Yankees starter CC Sabathia fell apart as Shane Victorino drove...

Game 1: 3 stars of the game

In the first game of the season the Red Sox have already made it difficult for me to pick the top 3 stars of the game. This column will run after every game. The idea is to pick 3 players from either team, who put in the best performances, just like the 3 stars of the game for hockey. I will be keeping track of who earns the awards and with that will be able to accurately predict...

Red Sox invade Yankee Stadium with new faces and higher expectations

After a very busy offseason, the 2013 MLB season is finally here and the Boston Red Sox are ready to embark on a new chapter under first year manager John Farrell and several new players that will make up part of this team in 2013. Life without manager Bobby Valentine is over and the drama in the clubhouse that was evident last summer has been cleaned up and a new slate has been...

Tons Of Empty Seats In Yankee Stadium As They Lose 8-2 To Boston On Opening Day

Okay, I am not your typical Yankee hater. I respect the organization for what it is, but sometimes it is kind of funny to see a team of their stature struggle. They have many key players on the DL to start the year on an already aging roster. I do not see big things out of the team from the Bronx this season, and it did not start well on Opening Day, as they lost to the Boston...

Your Morning Dump... Where Boras chimes in on the outfield situation

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here... highlighting the big storyline. Because there's nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump. “We definitely see those two players co-existing on the Red Sox,” said Boras yesterday. “They are quite a force for the team.” There is no question in Boras’ mind about which of the two should be in...
