The Tribune Co. has pushed back the deadline for bids on the sale Chicago Cubs and/or Wrigley Field from July 9 to July 31 amid concerns by prospective buyers that the rosy revenue projection figures within the 300-page financial “book” put together by Tribune are unrealistic. According to the Chicago Sun-Times (http://www.suntimes.com/news/metro/1025793,CST-NWS-cubs26.article), while revenues have almost doubled over the last five years, potential owners are concerned that those revenue projections will not continue to climb, even though the Cubs are far from finished with renovations and changes in business practices.
